| Basic requirements | All the applicants shall meet one of the following requirements: (1) The bachelor degree is obtained from one of the key universities in “Project 985” or of National Key Disciplines in China. The doctoral degree shall be obtained from one of the famous universities abroad (Top 100 universities in terms of comprehensive or field of study ranking in the world). Two papers with the applicant as the first author or the (associate) supervisor as the first author and the applicant as the second author shall be published (or accepted) by journals abroad listed in Science Citation Index. If the bachelor degree is obtained from one of the “Project 211” universities in China, the applicant shall submit four such papers. (2) The bachelor and doctoral degrees are obtained from one of the key universities in “Project 985” or of National Key Disciplines in China. The applicant has two or more consecutive years of studying, researching or working abroad. Two papers with the applicant as the first author or the (associate) supervisor as the first author and the applicant as the second author shall be published (or accepted) by journals abroad listed in Science Citation Index. If the bachelor degree is obtained from one of the “211 Project” universities in China, the applicant shall submit four such papers. (3) The bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees are obtained from one of the famous universities abroad (Top 100 universities in terms of comprehensive or field of study ranking in the world). Two papers with the applicant as the first author or the (associate) supervisor as the first author and the applicant as the second author shall be published (or accepted) by journals abroad listed in Science Citation Index.
